Get the Right Attitude For Weight Loss – 3 Tips From the Biggest Loser Twins

The right attitude for weight loss is something you can model and there is no better model of motivation, inspiration and dedication than the Weight Loss Twins, Bill and Jim Germanakos who both won the 4th season of The Biggest Loser.

Bill stayed on the ranch and won the final weigh in by losing 164 in just 8 months. His brother, Jim, was kicked off the ranch in week 5 but that didn’t slow him down one bit, he came back to the finale a total of 186 pounds lighter winning the "eliminated" contestant prize.

Both brothers say a big part of their success was due to creating the right attitude for weight loss. This is how they did it.

1. Don’t limit your motivation. The brother both faced personal health issues due to their obesity but that wasn’t their only motivation. They had families who they wanted to be active with and Jim needed to lose weight so he could be a more capable police officer.

2. Create affirmations or mantras to keep yourself focused. Bill became famous for his mantra, "to become half the man, so he could be twice the man." And Jim focused on the simple motto, "Dedication – Motivation – Education." By keeping these phrases in their heads they were able to push through challenges.

3. Look beyond the original goal. Bill and Jim both knew they wanted to share what they were learning about how to combine diet, exercise and attitude in a way that created results and they looked beyond the Biggest Loser finale at this bigger goal of "paying it forward". Today both are actively engaged in motivating and inspiring people to reach their weight loss goals.

Cardiovascular exercise is good for anybody because it helps to boost metabolism. Resistance training is even better; you get a bigger boost, and you build muscle. Both of them work well for you anyway, so you only need to choose which one you are more comfortable with.

Sometimes you respond to your environment based on the way your metabolism works, sometimes its vice versa. However you look at it, your metabolism plays a very important role in your overall wellbeing. Some people think that boosting it makes them all that better. I think that they are not wrong. ;They are actually very correct. If you want to feel better and look healthier, then you should do everything to boost your metabolism today.
